Djgna:

  • Does not bombard you with ads like other platforms do (we don't have any and never will).
  • Does not exploit you and sell your information like other platforms do (and never will).
  • Does not make it impossible for you to reach us if you need help with your account or have any questions.
  • Takes a privacy first approach and lets you share as much or as little information about yourself as you want.
  • Gives you a chronological timeline that only shows posts that you and your friends have made. No "algorithmic content", no spam
  • Gives you the ability to upload a profile song that will automatically play whenever someone visits your profile.
  • Gives you the ability to create groups (public, private, secret) that you can use to organize around a particular theme or topic.

We decided to name the site Djgna because it is a word that truly embodies our people - Eritreans are proud of their land and heritage. We as a people have faced challenges that seem insurmountable, yet still managed to overcome them despite all odds. Djgna reminds us of who we are and where we come from. It inspires us to live up to its meaning.
